South African here. My family lost their farm under the Group Areas Act of 1950. Since that time our family has been stuck in four generations of poverty. This apartheid era Group Areas legislation allowed for the white minority to seize our land with no compensation. South Africa is simply trying to redress these past injustices and Afrikaner land owners are losing their minds. They started petitioning Trump in 2016. An organization called Afriforum is behind the smear campaign against South Africa. The white minority in South Africa is extremely vocal and unfortunately, they now have the ear of the President of the United States, Elon Musk and his sidekick, Donald Trump.
