This 4th July We Must Recognize the United States as a Big Planetary Bully
The US and its Western Empire uses cunning tactics to dominate the Global Majority and stay in power. It’s time for this Empire to find its humanity and rise above planetary domination.
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism, but we still got terrorists here livin’ in the USA, the Big CIA.
You may recognize the Black-Eyed Peas singing truth to power in Where is the Love.
The “Big CIA” is a shadow agency within the US government that operates across the world, above the law and with impunity. Think of them as the Ray Donovan of the ruling white elite.
If this were a Mafia movie, then the Central Intelligence Agency, and its global counterparts, would be the “garbage collectors” — the henchmen who execute rivals and clean up crime scenes.
Wait. We ARE living in a Mafia movie. The Mafia Dons are the nations of the Western Empire that has ruled over the Global Majority and countries of the Global South in a 400-year reign of terror. Heard of them? They are the white nations of the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Israel. Yes, they are an Empire, much like the Romans were but oh so insidious. The cabal now includes recently-added side-kicks, Japan and South Korea — wannabe white nations.
What do these nations have in common? Colonization, genocide against Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC), unbridled capitalist greed, decimation of the earth’s resources, the worst climate offenders, blocking the sharing of Covid-19 vaccine patents, and a bloodlust for power. None more so than the cult leader and bully-in-chief, our very own USA.
The CIA is just one tool in the arsenal of tactics the Western Empire deploys to keep the Global Majority in check. Their bag of tricks includes media brainwashing, wars under the guise of “anti-terrorism” and “anti-drug” enforcement and military training of sympathetic strongmen in countries of the Global South. The US, with assistance from its Western allies, operates over 800 military bases in over 70 countries worldwide, costing the US taxpayer over $150 billion annually.
Why? All of this debauchery is designed to protect the interests of the Western Empire, so its corporations, elites and despots can continue extracting resources and exploiting cheap labor in the Global South. With the side benefit of preventing the uprising of billions of Black, Indigenous and People of Color. The Empire does this with impunity — no governments to sanction it and no courts to hold it accountable.
The litany of crimes committed globally by the CIA reads like the rap sheet of a pedophile on an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. From setting up rigged elections in countries of the Global South, to the attempted assassinations on Fidel Castro, the assassinations of Cuban revolutionary Che Guevara and Congolese leader Patrice Lumumba, to helping the South African white minority government capture freedom fighter Nelson Mandela; this is the legacy of the CIA. The Mafia Dons and their CIA Pitbull have never been brought to justice.
We must demand justice – that CIA leaders, corporate collaborators and every living US President (and the dead ones, posthumously) be brought to trial at the International Court of Justice for crimes against humanity. As far-fetched as that demand may sound. In the sane world, that is exactly what would happen. Take South Africa. Its former President, Jacob Zuma, is currently on trial for corruption because the citizens have demanded that he be held accountable.
The least we can do here in the US is to demand of Congress that it defund and abolish the CIA. It’s time to sign those petitions and get on the horn with our senators.
This was a speech delivered by Frederick Douglas over 169 years ago. His words still ring true today, the 4th July 2021.
“What, to the American slave, is your 4th of July? I answer: To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciations of tyrants, brass fronted impudence; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade, and solemnity, are, to him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy — a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages.
Go where you may, search where you will, roam through all the monarchies and despotisms of the old world, travel through South America, search out every abuse, and when you have found the last, lay your facts by the side of the everyday practices of this nation, and you will say with me, that, for revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy, America reigns without a rival.”
It does not have to be this way; we can forge a new path.
This Independence Day, as we warm up our hotdogs on our gas grills and bring out the cherry pie, let us take a minute to reflect on our country’s contributions to the world — not just the good, but the bad and the VERY bad.
We the People, must hold our country accountable to a higher standard. We must demand that these United States be a better leader in the world – one that leads with integrity, humility and humanity. Starting with the global sharing of Covid-19 vaccine technologies and the withdrawal of all US troops from countries in the Global South. It’s what any civilized nation would do.
