You need to know the truth about Friends. The concept of Friends was appropriated from a show called Living Single that aired in 1993, starring Queen Latifah. Living Single was based on a couple of 20 something career-oriented women and their male friends living in the same apartment complex. The show started getting really popular, then white folks wanted their own show since Living Single had an all Black cast. So they appropriated the concept of Living Single and came up with Friends - the whitest TV show in history. I am with you, I could never get past the first two minutes of an episode of Friends - I don’t get white American humor, they laugh at stuff I don’t find funny and the characters seem so bland and one dimensional.
